Hi all,

Just wondered what to log family swimming under or roughly how many cals? Spent about an hour in the pool with my hubby and youngest, just messing about in the water, bit of freestyle swimming, walking up and down in water. We normall go once a mth if we can but not been for an age, so would like to log this. Any ideas would be great! I tend to eat half my cals back if i do any exercise outside my normal daily routine if that helps

Thanks

Chrissy x

I would log it as walking at 2.0 mph and for only half the time you were in the water.

I do swim and the calories on here are based on full on fast swimming. I've worn a HRM and compared and the MFP calorie counts were way off. And I'm a former athlete/swimmer and even I didn't get anywhere close to what this site said

There are several catagories in the exercise data base to log in your swimming. Use the pull down menu under the exercise tab and select what most closely fits your activity. Just remember the calories burned from MFP are usually on the high side so you might want to adjust a little.
