So I have completely taken the summer off, a little bit exhaustion and a little bit of depression mixed in with a little bit of I just plain suck...LOL... But most of my success was the time I was on MFP, so I wanna get back into it.....
Anyway, I want to get back to my good track. But instead of heavy weight lifting like I was doing, I want to maybe start riding bikes... I have a mountain bike, and I havent quite mastered using the different gears (21 of them) But I have read and learned a lot from the Couch to 5K program, so I was wondering, is there a bicycle program similar to this? I want to start off right, but I rode about 2 and a half miles today and my chest felt like it was going to explode.....Please help...

I dont know of any programs but would be interested...are you actually riding in the mountains...ie track with your bike..if so maybe start on some easier turf...as for the gears...I rarely use all of mine...I stick with the 2nd gears mostly unless going up a really big hill....and the 3rds only on the flats...but even then only occasionally...

I just googled "cycling training programs" and came back with lots of results. I can't vouch personally for any of them but it's a starting point if no one else has suggestions. Don't feel like you "have" to use all those gears either! They're there to help you when needed.

ETA: I just looked on iTunes and searched for "cycling" and there are several there too. :)
