Another newbie

Hi,
I just joined too. I started this on Tuesday this week as a bet with a friend to lose 10% body weight by mid September (2011 ;-) ). I used to do a lot of kayaking and at 6' 1" have always been big upper body build but now want to get rid of the belly which has been appearing, mostly due to spending too many hours working at a desk over winter. Start weight 248.8Lbs, target 223.9Lbs. Haven't had an alcoholic drink since start and was 244Lbs this morning :-) Don't know whether this is possible but gonna give it a go. Plan is just to be careful eating, very little drink, and keep exercising. Love spinning but probably need to do more all round exercise.
Forfeit for not achieving this is £100 to a charity, but am sure we'll pay up either way.
