Muscle Weight & 30DS

Okay, so I know a lot of times, when you start exercising, you gain some muscle weight. I've been exercising for over a month now (just running, light strength training) and haven't gained. Well today was my 4th day of 30DS, and I have gained 3 lbs!!!

Did anybody else gain much weight at the beginning of 30DS? How quickly did you start losing weight again? I was well on my way to my goal until today. :(

    When you start doing strength training, your muscles tend to hold on to more water to recover.

    So you're likely just holding water weight, and not fat/muscle/whatever else. [:

    Add: My weight usually goes up, or stays steady, for a few days after I strength train, or start a new, harder, workout.

    Again, it's all water. [:

    I'm having the same problem after starting 30DS a week ago, I hope it's just water! It's pretty frustrating to see the scale.

    Sorry, but you didn't build muscle that quickly. However, muscles do cause you to retain water as they rebuild...that's most likely what is going on.

    Body is storing glycogen and water from strength training more than likely, go a couple days and you will normalize and be back to normal. Average personcan only add 15 lbs of muscle a YEAR, so unless your on roids don't worry!

    I am, I have only been wrong once and I was mistaken. Lol. Anytime you start something new your body time to adjust to it.

    I have "gained" 3lbs since starting the 30DS 1 week ago. I drink about 100oz of water everyday but I think it is bc I have been doing 2 to 3 sets of the work out. I normally do level 1 and then level 2 right behind it. On the weekends I do Level 1, Level 2 and then Level 1 again consecutively. I am use to doing an hr workout so I feel like I need more after only 20mins with one level! I hope it does drop off bc this will be the first time in over a year that I have gained any weight! I will just have to stay off the scale for a while.
