your thoughts on coffee?

Coffee is good for you, however, caffeine stalls the weight loss process. I hit a plateau once trying to loose weight when I read about it. I did cut back to only one cup in the morning, stopped drinking my "diet" beverages, and voila! Started loosing again.
The same thing with beverages with Splenda. Splenda doesn't have any calories, but is not good when trying to loose weight: http://www.naturalnews.com/024543_health_Splenda_weight.html.
Caffeine stalls weight loss in some people because it causes insulin resistance. It can also cause increased appetite in those same people. Splenda can do the same thing. NOTE: it does not occur in every person. But if you notice you have stalled, or have an increased appetite, cut out these two first0 -
Coffee with a little almond or soy milk in the morning gets me going I don't really care for sugary coffee drinks so I'm not big on going to Starbucks or anything, I just need some caffeine in my crazy schedule lol0

I love coffee. At least one, maybe 2 sometimes 4 cups a day. I add in the cream and sweetener to my daily totals, and so far so good, ;-)

A 2001 study in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry found that coffee has significantly more total antioxidant activity than cocoa, green tea, black tea, or herbal tea. And a study published in 2006 concluded that coffee "...may inhibit inflammation and therefore reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and other inflammatory diseases in postmenopausal women."
Coffee by itself is not bad for you, instead as with this quote it might be beneficial to drink it in regulation. I personally only drink caffeine around a workout, and in rare occasions for prolonged study sessions. I wouldn't worry about 1-2 spoons of coffee a day.0
