MFP is good but not perfect. That's why I still spend a lot of time resourcing things on my own and correcting entries. Also, everyone has their own goals here, so some things are more important than others. For instance, I never bother with the vitamin values. I just assume that if I eat healthier, I will get the necessary nutrients and vitamins to keep me going.

well I always heard if you eat tollhouse chocolate chip cookies on a treadmill, they have NO fat or calories ...
I'll back you up on that, so it says member submitted 1 confirmation.

I found the most outrageous offense yesterday. I was adding a NY strip steak to my diary and was looking through the options. Someone listed 6 ounces of beef having no fat (!) or cholesterol. Even worse, 13 people CONFIRMED IT!!! Idiots. So I went in, edited it, now at least 14 people on MFP are missing their fat free, cholesterol free steak.

Interesting that a lot of people don't realise you can edit the entries - definitely something more people SHOULD know and do around here so that the database is as accurate as it can be :)

When you see an incorrect or incomplete food, click on 'nutritional info', you will see a question asking if it's accurate, click on 'No' and then select 'edit' and you can correct it!

    I completely agree with you!
I have seen so many foods listed that cannot possibly be correct. A lot of them aren't correct on the calorie content either, yet I know there are people out there that don't research out the foods they are eating and end up being way over on calories.
My philosophy: If something doesn't sound "right", I always go to the web and check it out.
The barcode option for smart phones has been a real time saver for ACCURATELY logging calories and other nutrition values too.
