When to eat and what to eat?

It's probably on here somewhere but when and what should I eat in relation to when I work out. On weekends I work out in the mid afternoon during nap time, and weekdays I try to work out at night after bed time. I'm really hoping to get my rear in gear and get up BEFORE the baby and do it in the am.
