weight loss and night sweats?

I have been told that excess estrogen is stored in your fat cells and that when I am overweight I have more estrogen in my system. So, that being said, ever since the weight loss has started in the last 50 days I have been having increasing night sweats and some hot flashes too. Anyone else experience this?

In 2008 I lost 3 and a half stone (50lbs) through doing the Rosemary Conley low-GI diet and combined it with 3-4 days of intensive cardio. The weight came off in 4 months. I remember some serious night sweats where I'd wake up in the early hours and my bed would be soaked, and I would be soaked (yuk!!). So I think what's happening to you is normal and you don't need to worry. I didn't get hot flashes in the daytime but it's probably connected with the night sweats.

    Well done with the weight-loss!

I haven't heard that but I think those symptoms are normal and are associated with perimenopause.

    Menopause??? Serious? :noway:
I was only 36 when that was happening and it stopped when I reached my goal weight. Should I be worried?? :frown:

Here's my theory, but I haven't been able to find much to back it up (aka I don't have the patience to research it so oh well):

I'm a big sugar/salt consumer, but the past couple of days I've been sticking mostly to fruits, veggies through the day, paired with a TON of water, way more than I usually drink, and I've noticed a lot of extra sweat on my part, along with awful caffeine/sugar withdrawal headaches.

My guess is that my body is trying to push out toxins and cleanse itself now that I'm not filling it with salt and sugar and all of that yuckiness. I don't know how that relates to you, but that's my best guess, haha.
