How accurate are these calories?

I just worked out this morning for 50 min- 30 cardio and 20 weights, so I had a lot of extra calories. We have a sonic 2 miles from home:explode: and with it being Sunday, we stopped by Sonci for a quick lunch and I had the extra calories, so I was going to indulge in a grilled chicken sandwich! I looked up the calories before going and on MFP they were 380 cal, but when I pulled it up from the Sonic Nutrition Guide, the sandwich was listed for 420. Which one is accurate? I'm logging the 420 because I would rather be over than under. Just wondered if anyone else has ran into this!!

some foods on the site are not accurate so its best to check them out yourself sometimes
i always overestimate, dont want to be eating all the time and be going over :flowerforyou:0 -

If sonic says it's 420 then that would be the most accurate place to get that info.
Someone probably logged it in either wrong, or a while back and it changed.0 -
I too go with the nutrition values that a particular food vendor has if they give that information. If not I use "thedailyplate.com" alot. They are pretty accurate as far as I can tell.

Usually the resturaunt will have their own nutrition guides if you google them, and that's what I did. Also, you can do like deb stated above and use "thedailyplate.com". I had just been using MFP until I thought to google it and boy, was that a suprise! I printed out the whole nutrition guide from Sonic b/c it's so close to us (small town and the only fast food chain, ha) I usually get a salad, but wanted to eat something different! I'm glad I checked though.0 -

I thought of that b/c it's about a 40 cal difference! Mayo can add up and I love it:ohwell:0 -
your doing great. just getting info and using it is a big step in the right direction.
When I was pregnant with my 1st son I was so proud because I ate a salad each and every day. In my ignorance, I could not figure out how I gained 54 pounds.
It wasnt until years later when my son was 14 and we went to a nutritionist, that I found out the truth. She asked what I put on the salad, I said iceburg lettuce, tomatoes, celery, eggs, cheese, carrots, croutons and blue cheese dressing. I was so proud. She asked how much blue cheese ....oh at least 2 over full scoops!! She then told me my salads were approx. 700 calories and 40 grams of fat. :noway: The cheese was cheese food, the BC dressing was horrible, the iceburg was useless.
I would have been better off with a piece of pizza!!
So learning and being aware is wonderful!
