Where is a good place to get a starting pair of running shoes? I (like everyone I bet, lol) am on a budget, but I need a new pair! I'm not really happy with the reeboks I currently have.

be sure that when you do get new shoes they are good quality shoes...i have friends who by cheaper shoes and have to replace them more than i do and i buy more expensive shoes...you want quality not just afforable :)

I love new balance. Go to a store - not an outlet - and have them fitted to you. They will run about $100-120 but are well worth it. If you are going to walk/run...you must have good shoes!

I have bought about 600 pairs of running shoes at runningwarehouse.com, and they have some great closeouts. I just picked up a pair of Nike Free 3.0 for $55.

Helps to know what you like and what size, which is why I'll go to someplace like Sports Authority to check first.

I do spend PLENTY of money at store like (and including) Sports Authority on other stuff, so I don't feel guilty trying on their shoes lol.

(extra 10% off at running warehouse if you click on the link on runblogger.com. it's not my blog, btw)

We're Asics and New Balance people here. Tried other brands but keep going back to those two, and they're some of the cheaper ones. Check their websites to see which models might work best for you and then do a little shopping around. I just bought a couple of new pairs at back to school sales.
