After a very rough week, it has been a glorious day for me. I won't divulge too much here, but I am facing some serious hurdles in my life. This next year will be a stressful and extremely challenging one. However, I am thankful for a few things in life right now. First, is my boyfriend. He is so kind and supportive of me. He tells me how beautiful I am everyday, and he even did this when I was at my heaviest. I am constantly hearing from him that I look thinner. I thought he was just trying to make me feel good, as I did not see much of a difference myself. Second, is my new found courage and drive. In light of the chaos around me, I have become more determined than ever to succeed. I cannot stop major challenges from being thrown at me, but I can sure make my life a little better by treating my body with respect. Everyday has not been perfect, but I have logged everyday for 110 days. Honestly, I feel much happier and much more confident than 110 days ago. I have much more energy. I sleep better. Finally, I'm starting to feel good physically!
Today, I reached my first goal to lose 20lbs by August 6th. As a result of this loss, I am now officially "overweight" and no longer "obese". It feels great. I remember how bad I felt when I first found out I was "obese". It was one of my lowest points. On top of these two achievements, I am beginning to notice the changes in my appearance myself. Today, I wore a skirt I have had for a couple years. It was never super tight, but it always fit nicely over my hips. Well, today, I could not keep the skirt up. I tried using a paper clip and a bobby pin to no avail. It got to the point where I had to physically hold the skirt on my body while at the grocery store. This was slightly embarrassing, but I'll take it as a good sign. Looks like it's time to retire that one.
I'm going to try and take this good feeling and milk it for all I can. I have one week til vacation, and I am more determined than ever. Here's to 42 more pounds and hopefully many more NSVs.
