So My husband and I have to fancy holiday events we have been invited to. One this coming Saturday is local city mayors ball and the second is a big shindig hosted by three generals on the military base we live near. Now normally I would dread these becase I always hate going to buy a dress. This year is a bit different in two ways.

1. With current financial concerns buying a new dress, let alone two (many of the same people at both so sorta need 2 different dresses)

2. I am 1lb away from 60lbs less of me than last holiday season!

So anyway I figured I will just pull out some of the previous years dresses from when we lived in Ohio (we are now in llinois. I knew I would most likely need to get them altered but figured that is less expensive than buying new. Ok, getting to the point....

I got those dresses out tonight and started trying them on to see which two I want to get altered OMG what a difference 60lbs makes! For one thing, yes I knew my boobs and shunk but LOL Everyone of the dresses hangs on me and I mean hangs everywhere. Where once my cleavage filled a top now I look like a child trying to wear a grown ups dress. Where once the dresses hugged my no exsistant waist line and curved over my back side they just HUNG THERE, You couldnt tell I was in them.. Dont get me wrong at 186 I am no where near thin and I still have 40 to go to get to my goal of 145 but WOW how good did trying those dresses on tonight feel. :flowerforyou: I have picked out two with the help of my hubby and daughters opinions and will be visiting the seamstress tomorrow. I'm not sure trying on the 'big girl' dresses and finding them so big was not more gratifying than getting to go out and buy a new dress would have been

 So happy for you. Most of my clothes are falling off but I refuse to buy any new right now because I KNOW I will one day get back into the ones I have put away from a couple of years ago (pre-cancer treatments and 3rd baby and now hysterectomy). However, I did sneak and try on a pair of my daughters jeans last night, don't get me wrong they were tight and I would never wear them in public -- but they zipped without laying on the bed or anything!!
    KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!

I had a 'model your old clothes' show yesterday too. I have been feeling low(er) cuz I havent lost weight in a few weeks. My dh tells me...well you lost 25 pounds, isnt that enough. This made me smile. Then I decided to go thru my closet...but I didnt believe they didnt fit. I had to try them on before putting them in the to go pile.

I felt so wonderful. I am still smiling!

I was also a bit disappointed in the extra space in the top portion of my old dresses. But go to the store and try on a new one just for the heck of it. You will look so good in your new size you wont even THINK about it again!!!

    Great job!!:flowerforyou:

Oh don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy the reduction in the breast size. I am finally wearing what I call 'normal people' bras. I am no longer buying massive bras or bra extender's just to get it to fit around me. I like being able to pick out a 36C at target in all the cute styles and colors and not having to pay a fortune for some massive ugly thing. Let-em shrink! Smaller in a push up bra in my opinon looks better any day than massive with an over the sholder bolder holder, not to mention the reduced stress on my back

    OMG...how awesome....fitting into the 'daughter jeans'.....great motivator I can only imagine:drinker:

I too live pretty much in sweat and tshirts as I'm always on the way to the gym or the way back and places in between I can get by with wearing such....I still look nice not all sweaty and stuff I mean:laugh: When I wear all that but I too am going down faster than I'd imagined and can't see nor afford to buy new so often to keep up. I have a boatload of jeans to try on to keep motivated... my last years winter coat could fit 4-5 of us in it now.......... the arms on it are so long it's weird...did I lose inches off the lenght of my arms?

No it's amazing though isn't it how weight lost through out our entire bodies can make a HUGE difference in the lenght of sleeves, jeans etc.   GOTTA LOVE IT!:drinker:

OMG you are such an inspiration... You have lost 160 pounds, that's a whole person! Thanks for the encouragement, it would be better if my daughter wasn't almost full grown at age 11, but I was too, but I am still counting it as an acheivement. I WILL get back into the jeans (low rise flare legs) that I gave her and her feet are already bigger than mine HA so I'll wear those jeas with a really cute new pair of shoes, instead of only buying her all the cute stuff all the time.
Anyone feel free to check out my pics in my profile... The 2nd picture is actually my 11 year old MacKenzie Grae, I personally thik she is gorgeous, next is my 7 year old, Jaben, BTW it is not a real mohawk in the picture, and lastly you hear most about my baby who turmed 9 months yesterday, LolaGracen.

First off congratulations!!!!! even 10lbs makes a differemnce. You are so gonna hit that mark and maybe even better!!!! But a model youir old clothes show, funny you saw that. I found an old suit a bit back(in the summer) and fit into a pant leg. thats right a pant leg. It was a size 20 a freakin 20!!! as much as I wanna toss them cause it can be a subconcious way to gain wt but i have to have them to say I did this...
