So I have heard a LOT of talk about the Body Bug and I am wondering if anyone on here had ever used one and if so what do you think of it ? Is it acurate ? Does it work well ? Is it worth the money ?

Thanks!

I just got the BodyBugg equivalent, BodyMedia FIT, a few days ago. I LOVE it! I am obsessed with checking my stats several times a day. I'm sure the novelty will wear off, but I find the information very helpful. I still use MFP to log food (as I found the BM food database grossly inadequate vs. MFP) and manually enter the calories into BM FIT.

I read up on both BodyBugg and BM FIT. Although they are by the same manufacturer, the websites are different and the FIT also tracks sleep and sleep efficiency. From what I have learned, the FIT website is preferred by many users.

Costco.com had the BodyMedia FIT on sale through today for $199, which included a 12-month subscription to the service.

In my opinion, information is power. Anything that helps me stay on track and make lifestyle changes is worth it.

Ditto! I've had mine for 3 weeks and LOVE IT! I got mine on ebay for $100 and picked up a 12mo subscription for under $50. It's WAY more comfortable than (at least MY) HRM. I wear it all the time and only when it is really hot does it feel kind of sticky...but then again everything feels sticky when it's that hot!

I looked into getting one but it just wasn't in the budget. But I use a polar brand HRM while working out and I love it. Seems to be very accurate. I got it for $60 on amazon.com

I have had one for quite a while. It has been great. I've lost every week since using it.

The biggest thing I foud was that I was vastly under eating and that was the main cause of my stalls. Before I was eating 1600 calories (at 247 pounds) figuring that my metabolism was crap. I'd lose something like 12-15 pounds the first month then I'd start slowing down. After the first month or so I'd start having weigh ins where I had slight gains, break even, or lose something like .25 to .5 pounds for a week. I tracked my calories, weighed and measured everything and was not losing weight very fast at 1600 per day. Not only that but I wast tired all the time and felt weak.

So, I tried the bodybugg and found that on workout days I'll easily burn 3500-4200 calories depending on intensity. On off days I'll burn around 3000. Se even on off days I was floating around 1400 calorie deficits and as much as `2600 on workout days.

Now I eat between 2000-2400 per day and have been losing 1-4 pounds every week since. Given that I'm 229, I should be able to los at least a pound every week, maybe two. Once in a while I have bigger week and lose 3-4 pounds, but that's normally after a 1 pound week.

Some people don't get the same results using the device as I do, but for me it seems to have nailed my metabolism nearly perfectly.

I've had my BodyBugg since April and it's made a world of difference for me. I'm losing more consistently and at the speed I want to lose.
