For some of us, getting used to portion control is not easy. Cutting back a few cals may also be hard to get used to.
Ask yourself some questions: is your BMR correct? Are you eating all your exercise cals? Have you set your weight loss expectations too high and trying to lose too fast? Have you tried eating 5-6 small meals a day rather than 3 big ones? Have you considered that perhaps eating a little something just before bed may power your body for the 'big fast' so that you're not waking up hungry?
Depending on your answers to those questions might give you clues as to how to deal with the problem. I only really wake up hungry when I've stiffed myself in cals the prior day and my bodys hunger pangs are it's way of letting me know that I did.
Get up and eat -- there's nothing wrong with eating first thing in the morning.0 -
I'm not sure... I have ALWAYS been that way in the morning! I wake up because I'm hungry! I have heard though that eating as soon as you wake up starts your metabolism, and probably eating right before you go to bed would set you up to be hungry in the morning?? i'm not sure...0

It could just be that your metabolism has gotten better and your body needs more fuel?!0

that happened to me saturday, I was hungry all day, and not just imagine it hungry, I ate probably 500 -- 600 more calories than I normally would have. Didn't hurt me though. I just figured my metabolism is getting fixed and my body wanted more food than I had given it0

Yeah maybe thats true. I try not to eat any snacks two hours before bed. Im eating all cals including exc cals. My weigh loss is at the recommend one pound. Your probably right about the 5-6 small meals cause im getting hungry every hour to two hours. Ill try that thanks0

Definitely eat often! It's GOOD to wake up hungrey--it means your metabolism is raring to go, like an excited horse. "Feed me!" it's saying. That's good! Your body is working like it should. Remember, it's bad when you never feel hunger at all, because very often it means your metabolism has slowed down.
Feed it!
Just one note though--if you wake up really groggy too, as well as starving, maybe have a little slow-burning snack before bed. Like...6 almonds. It helps me so much during exams when my sleep is messed up.0
