I've been sitting about 1Kg (2.2 pounds) away from goal for... oh... I don't know. MONTHS! Just can't seem to get there and feel like giving up! What's worse, is that I can't seem to stay on track anymore! Where did my awesome will power and determination go? I'm starting to binge eat and am losing sight of my goal weight and just when I'm so close! Spring is just around the corner and Summer not long after. Why am I self sabotaging???!

Have you ever lost sight of your goal? What did you do to get back on track and stay there? HELP! :frown:

    Are you eating to enough?

This is just a part of it! please read the link above

Generally someone with a BMI over 32 can do a 1000 calorie a day (2 lbs a week) deficit
With a BMI of 30 to 32 a deficit of 750 calories is generally correct (about 1.5 lbs a week)
With a BMI of 28 to 30 a deficit of 500 calories is about right (about 1 lb a week)
With a BMI of 26 to 28 a deficit of about 300 calories is perfect (about 1/2 lb a week)
and below 26... well this is where we get fuzzy. See now you're no longer talking about being overweight, so while it's still ok to have a small deficit, you really should shift your focus more towards muscle tone, and reducing fat. This means is EXTRA important to eat your exercise calories as your body needs to KNOW it's ok to burn fat stores, and the only way it will know is if you keep giving it the calories it needs to not enter the famine response (starvation mode)

This pretty much sums up my issue at the moment!

I have not managed to shift anything for 3 months now (I am 3lbs away from goal weight!) and I find myself getting more and more complacent. I am falling off the wagon more often and find old habits startingt o creep back ..

This weekend I was over by 400+ cals on Fri, Sat AND Sun.... I've not done that since I signed up here??

I feel on the verge of giving up !

It sounds like you've lost the " burn" to lose... I've been the same up until a few weeks ago. I achieved a weight that I haven't been for many years and "plateu" has been my excuse!

We all know it's cals in cals out! I've just in the last 2weeks grabbed this bull by the horns, eyeballed it and said "I'm moving on! End of story! .. And starting to lose again...

It really is power and determination! :glasses:

    Indeed !!

I have had to give myself a real kick up the bum this week as I so easily could have gone completely off the rails.

My Mantra to myself has been
    * You know this lifestyle change works for you
    * You know you feel better when you eat well and exercise more
    * You know that you are here for the long haul
    * Don't give up

On that basis I have had quite a good week so far....
