WHAT CAN WE DO????

Options
We went out to eat last night at Carabba's and once again they do not publish their nutritional info. The other morning we went to Cracker Barrel (I had a salad!) and the same thing, no nutritional info.

How do we get the ball rolling to make it a requirement for all chain restaurants to provide this info? Having worked at many corporate restaurants I know they use recipe books and often get all their products from the same vendors. It's so incredibly frustrating!

Write a nice long letter to their corporate office. Don't just drop a "suggestion note" in their box at the restaurant. Head to the top.

I submitted an email to Carrabba's complaining about the lack of info available. I suggest everyone does the same!

I know in New York, it is the law that all restaurants must have nutritional information available and provide it if customers ask. Therefore, most of these chain restaurants can probably easily obtain it. Also, try online. Most restaurants post the nutritional information on their website. I would also suggest contacting your state Senators to get some action taken.

I meant to add, if you guys have an Android smartphone, download this free app, it includes nutrition info for Carrabba's and Cracker Barrel, as well as hundreds of other chains:

    https://market.android.com/details?id=com.unifiedlifestyle.rn

I travel a bit for work so I get stuck at chain places from time to time and this app ROCKS when you eat on the road. It even calculates your meal as you add what you are going to eat, kind of like MFP!

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.unifiedlifestyle.rn sounds good! It would really help to know the nutrition info. for places like these. Is there a way to access the information without a smart phone?

Not that I know of. If there is any meal any of you want me to look up at Carrabba's or Cracker Barrel, feel free to ask! I don't mind looking them up for you. I am not sure if every single menu item is in there but so far I haven't had trouble finding everything I am looking for.

BTW- Cracker Barrel's Old Timer's Breakfast with Bacon and Hash Brown Casserole? 1292 calories and 82 grams of fat
