Introducing Myself

Hello out there.

I have the lap-band done 2 years ago, lost 30# and nothing more.
I've felt that that was my last hope & since it "didn't work", that I should not try anymore.
Well, that is over because I need to try, I feel so much better when I am working out & eating right, I just need to get in the groove again.

HELP! Anyone who will be my buddy - hollla!

I have been signed up for myfitnesspal for a few months, but haven't signed on consistently. If I had accountability buddies it would drive me more.

Just bought Zumba for the Wii & it's pretty fun.
I have kettlebells I use occasionally.
I have turbo-jam CD. I like the gym Turbokick workouts and am interested in the Chalean Fire-turbo jam, whatever new she has now: basically I like her workouts.

I do enjoy working out, it is the over-eating that is my ultimate problem.
I am an excellent home cook, a foodie & a wino.
I've fattened up my boyfriend by cooking too good for him, and would like a little weight loss on my part to be his inspiration to lose weight.

Ideally a 70# weight loss to be a non-obese person. Initially I just want to focus on the first 16 pounds.

xoxo hope to hear from someone out there.
Pam

:flowerforyou: Welcome to the forum and it sounds like you have a definite plan! Keep it up and good things will happen! I started consistently using MFP about 4 weeks ago and have been able to lose 8 lbs. in that time! I am faithful about logging everything I eat and it seems to be working!

Hope all the motivation and support you will get from everyone here will help you get to your goal!

    Hey There!

I believe the buddy system does work. We are not perfect - no one is, but we are all human beings loving our lives enough to try to improve them with good nutrition and exercise. Friend me.

I cook at home most meals. I am a passionate cook and can prepare food that is healthy, delicious and filling. It's just limiting myself to one helping. I drink red wine everyday and most days limit it to one glass. With more wine - goes over eating for me.

My husband also needs to drop some weight. I am going to be the example, nagging or manipulating are not part of my caring personality - but baking and second helpings haven't helped him either.

I encourage you to log in everyday. It helped me realize that by eating more I was going to be able to sustain weight loss over the longterm. It's not as exciting as jumpstarting with a five pound weight loss, but I inevitably eat back the 5 pounds in a month.
This is a really, really good opportunity to turn a passion for eating and fitness into real results that last.
