maybe the Y has a scooter or wheel chair to push you to the water aerobics? My friend suggested this as she helps out at her local Y.

Welcome! You are in the right place. Start with small steps. I walked to the end of my street. If you can do that, walk across the room, to the door, to the mail box. Do it 5x a day to build up stamina.
I couldnt lift my purse due to an neck injury and now I do 30 push ups and lift 10 lbs. It CAN be done!!

Ain't she smart? Sounds like a plan. Get to the doc, talk to them about your plans. Start with eating right. Tackle that obstacle first. While doing that, add in trips to the mailbox. Multiple times a day. Walk around your house. Something small. Build up. Your stamina will increase tremendously and quickly, just stick with it.
