So I now use the stationary bike since the treadmill and stair master hurt my knees. The seat is very uncomfortable. Any input?

padded biking shorts or a padded seat cover. Both are widely available and relatively inexpensive.

Hi - You can get a gel seat cover that you can find at just about any bike shop or Walmart, Target, Sports Authority. It fits right over the top of the bike seat and makes it more cushioned. Give that a shot. And, over time, you do just get used to the seat. But the gel seat may give you a little head start.

Have you considered a recumbent bike? Same basic exercise but much friendlier on the nether regions.

I went to REI & bought a padded cover. It helps, but it's still not as comfy as the seat on my real bike.
