Active Release Therapy (ART) - Anyone?

I read a little bit about Active Release Therapy today -- it's a deep massage technique used by some trained chiropractors which is supposed to break up scar tissue around injuries and make them heal much faster. Anybody have any experience with it, or know anything about it?

I had a chiropractor who used it...AMAZING. it's similar to positional release therapy but it's REALLY hard on the practitioners body.
