changing my goal, need support

Up until my friends wedding in October I was doing pretty great. I lost 20 pounds before the wedding which was my first mini goal. But since then I have yo-yo'd for a few weeks, in the end losing only 2.5 pounds since then since I have gained, lost, gained, lost.
So I decided I need a new goal to shoot for, and a new plan. My profile had me set at losing a pound a week, and eating 1450 calories. But I just changed it to losing 1.5 pounds a week and eating 1200 calories a day.
Whew, I am a little nervous about dropping my intake by 250 calories a day, but no one ever said this was going to be super easy right (though sometimes I do feel like it is easier than I ever thought). I am just going to drink more water (I've gotten bad about that in the last few months) and work out more to have those extra calories to eat, and just keep striving for my goal.
Can someone please tell me I can do this? :ohwell:

Any plans as to what you'll do when you hit a 1-2 month-long plateau?
Keep that in mind when you make big changes like this. If you cut your calories as low as you possibly can prematurely, you will have nowhere to go once you finally plateau in several months.0 -
250 isn’t a huge amount, as long as it doesn’t take you below BMR, since you don’t have huge amounts to lose, you may not lose 1.5 pounds a week that requires a loss of 5200 calories per week? Is there enough calories between what you would need to maintain your current weight and your BMR to allow that kind of deficit??0

Ok I'm confused now....it says my BMR is 1560, however I didn't calculate my new calorie amount manually, I used the automatic settings that MFP uses and just plugged my current weight (194), my goal weight (150) and that I wanted to lose 1.5 a week. So is 1200 too few calories for me?
I know 1 pound a week is reccomended but it sounds like 2 can also safely be done, so wouldn't 1.5 be a happy medium?
I also don't agree with my BMI. It says at my weight now I am obese which I honestly don't think I am, and that my ideal weight should be between 101 and 136. I honestly think if I were anywhere under 120 I would look sick. I have a stocky frame, my fingers don't even touch when wrapping them around my wrist and my legs are quite muscly. I'm going to see my doctor next week to find out my weight in high school because I think I was a very healthy, good weight back then and I'd like to know what that number was back then.0 -
No way should you be at 1200 a day or even 1300 given your age and amount to lose. Stick with 1 pound a week. It takes time.0

I agree with shorerider, 1 lb a week, you want to be able to stick with this and keep it off right, 1560 is what you need to lose weight healthily. If you went to 1200 calories you are over 300 calories short per day, it isn't healty and your body will eventually rebel and you will gain it back. Unfortunately, there is no safeguard in the program to not allow it to calculate below your BMR, it just calculates the numbers you give it, but won't allow you to go below 1200 because no woman should ever go below 1200. Did that make sense, the program isn't perfect so to lose it that fast it says you can only eat 1200 per day, but it has not looked at your BMR figure(a flaw, I think), just straight numbers you plug in0

oh yeah and BMI's are not always accurate, they don't take muscle mass etc into account.0
