Why are some people SO negative?

Can someone please explain to me (though, I truly already know) why some people are SO negative? I won't go into too much detail- God forbid the person/persons I am venting about find their way to this site- but really?!

So this weekend, I did a Krav Maga Bag bootcamp with some coworkers. I have been working out consistently since January to shed my baby weight. I encountered two seperate people that day that made a comment about (when I stated what I wanted to do as far as workouts- Insanity and some mixed martial arts training) that the people that were doing these workouts are "in shape. In reference to my lack of "in shapeness."

My stamina is insane! I can run! I can do anything that any of these people can do, and I know thise because I do them in my personal training sessions and in my 6-7 days a week working out. I don't look like I'm in shape yet, because I'm trying to shed 40lbs of baby weight.

Sheesh. Some people are so rude. Not to mention, that one of the individuals is significantly heavier and more "out of shape" then myself.

Enlighten me folks, I could use some positive comments!

People just want others to drown with them in their misery. Even the ones who are in shape still don't feel like they measure up, so they make comments putting others down. You know you rock. You're doing it the right way

People can be rude and say negatives things at times. Just let it roll off your shoulders and don't take it to heart. You can do whatever you want to do and don't let negative people stop you. Keep up the good work.

Thank you ladies! I was feeling really vulnerable. Weight is such a sensitive subject as it is, and when you're working hard and someone calls you fat, you can't help but be frustrated.
