a little confused

Ok so when I go to the gym about 3 days a week I really give it my 110%. I do yoga for 20 mins as a warm up that has me sweating and shaking and every muscle activated. Then I circuit train for 25-30 mins sometimes longer if I feel the "juice" to keep going. Then I head to the pool and swim laps (not very effectively but I still do it) for another 45 mins to an hour. And I feel GREAT! but then I am so sore for the next two days that I feel like if I go back into the gym I am not going to be able to put much into it and that I need another day to recover. Is this normal? I mean I wasnt a sedentary person before. I work as a food server so I am used to getting my heart rate up every day. Will this get better with time? Should I just make my self go anyways? Am I over doing it? Help!

What I do is change it up. Don't try to do everything in 1 day. Like you said your sore 2 days after. Maybe do yoga one day, swim the next, weight training the next and start over. I do something similar. Arms and back Mondays, Poly-metrics Tuesday, legs and core Wednesday,Yoga Thursday and so on. Try something like that, see if it works for you then you can go every day. I also take 1 day off for recovery. Good luck. Add me if you like.0

If I were you I would yoga/circuit train one day then yoga/swim the next. If you kill your self trying so hard you will get discouraged and not want to go anymore. Make sure you are streching. Make it a good long streching session. I find when I stretch, even after a hard workout, I feel much better the next day. Good luck. I am not an expert it's just what I would do.0

Once you get better at everything and build up endurance it will be much easier. Right now your body is still adjusting. The best relief for sore muscles is more exercise. The Yoga is especially good for your sore muscles. Just keep plugging along and it will get better!!0

I am not a professional at all but depending on you physical ability will detrmine how long you should go. However I would streamline what your doing and shorten the workouts. I suggest you never go over 1 hour and 30 min. 15 min warm-up, 1 hour workout, 15 min cooldown.0

I do the yoga every day even when I dont work out for my back issues and it really seems to be helping a lot. Maybe I should cut down the swimming to only 30 mins that would lessen the intensity. The soreness I can handle, it is the fatigue and feeling of weakness that comes with it that is bugging me. I guess I am getting older cuz I dont remember feeling this way in my 20s when I would work out. I would be sore the next day but the day after I was ready to take on the world again0 -
I do 6 days a week and mon, wed and friday I do a circuit training and do 55 minutes on the elliptical. The odd days I do 70 min on the elliptical. You will have to find what works for you!!!! Great luck!!!0
