Does anyone have some good body weight exercises that are easy to do at home? I would like to do more strength exercises, and figured that body weight exercises would be a good place to start! Thanks!

I have started doing P90X workouts and they work very well so far. I would suggest looking into that DVD set and give it a try.

Push ups. burpees, squats, lunges, planks, crunches. Anything you can think of really. All great exercises that require only you:)

Jillain Michaels "Burn Fat Boost Metabolism" is a great workout that uses a lot of bodyweight training. It is also very aerobic. Plan on being sore after the first day.
  • DO visit http://www.bodyrock.tv

That's what I started out doing.

She has a new workout almost every day and she started giving instructions for substitute-exercises that you can do without or with simple equipment. You find a lot of recipes and diet-advice on there -- VERY motivating, all of her videos are on youtube also and it's all for FREEEEE.

Thanks everyone, this is very helpful!
  • I've built much of my strength training routine on this video podcast: madefittv. Found it on iTunes and I've really seen a difference.

    good cardio mix:

    mountainclimbers 1 minute
    jumping jacks 50
jump rope (with or without rope) 3 min.
    burpees 16

    repeat 3 sets

    Abs:
add plank, switch to side plank go back to the other side 20 sec. each for a total of 3 sets= 240 s or 4 min total
jeannie pose (lower ab work out) hold 40 sec. 2 - 3 sets
    I love the p90 x abs, too
