Lost Motivation! Please help me find it!

I've been watching what I eat and exercising regularly for a little over two months now. I’ve been doing pretty great. Eating healthy, smaller portions felt awesome! I never felt hungry or even wanted unhealthy food. I was able to lose 12 pounds but now my motivation is slowly dying. I’m finding it hard to restrain myself and am afraid I’m just going to gain the weight back. If anyone has some encouraging words to get me back in the spirit of eating better and losing weight that would be amazing! I'm half way to my goal weight and really want to keep going...but when it comes to eating I'm just not making the right choices.

Thank you!

give yourself one meal one time a week where you can eat what you want without feeling guilty but don't over do it. By eating what you want I mean if you are really wanting McDonald's maybe make yourself a lean burger at home. I just started the eating clean diet (if you can call it that) on Sunday and I honestly don't feel like I am missing anything yet and to be honest the food taste great. Maybe try to find something you love and invent new healthy ways of having it. Keep going you are doing great so far.

Remember this is a lifestyle change. It's going to be really difficult but you have to perservere. I've only lost 8 lbs in 4 months! Granted I don't eat healthy 100% of the time because that's not realistic for me. I'm weaning myself off of bad behaviors and unhealthy food. I just try a little harder each day. And some days I just completely screw up, but I'm human and being a health nazi isn't the lifestyle I'm used to.....yet. :) Just keep your head up, remember your overall goal, remember to support others and they will support you. Best of luck to you!

I second this! I usually take Saturday's off and eat a little bit of what I really want. Everything is good in moderation, so just don't go out on a binge... You're over the hill, so close to goal. You can do it! :)

Reevaluate what you are eating. Is this diet something you can do long term or are you just doing it until you lose the weight? Honestly what worked for me is figuring out an eating plan that I can do for the rest of my life. I haven't cut anything out entirely and I stick to moderation, drink enough water and workout a few days a week.
  • well I would say to eat "normal". If you want a piece of cake (and haven't had 3 already :-) ), eat one, but just make sure it is a single portion. Same goes for everything else. Try not to be so hard on yourself. Also, set a goal for yourself and create a reward (that you would actually look forward to). Myself, I have never been able to shop at BeBe, so I am looking forward to my goal weight so I can treat myself to a Bebe shopping venture. Just try not to obsess and compare how you are doing now versus before and congratulate yourself for the progess you have made. Someone also told me to remind myself of why I began in the first place by posting a horrible photo of myself on the fridge. Being that I havent seen your profile, I don't know if you're overwieight or not but this might help. Just hang in there and remember it's a lifestyle change. FOREVER! Hope this helps, and you can friend me if you'd like.

Ask yourself; Self, what is it that has caused your motivation to turn around after getting halfway to my goal. Is it something else that has happened that is an external action or event making you lose steam? Address what it is that caused you to stop or want to stop. Sounds like you still want to continue but something else has happened to affect your motivation.

    Remrmber your goals.
Remember why you started in the first place want to lose weight.
Remember and focus on the benefits of completing the quest.
Don't let outside events or persons affect ot get in your way.

Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right. So be positive.
