edited September 2024 in Introduce Yourself
Hello, I'm new. Obviously this is why I am introducing myself. I've been the classic yo-yo person all my life - I've been on a diet all my life - I've been obese all my life. I promised myself that i would change that by the time i turned 30. why i thought i would do well with a magic number, i do not know. Well, 30 was five months ago and there was no change. i'm pretty much here trying to change, trying to save my life, trying to pull myself out of that oh-so-familiar shame spiral.

so i'm lacing up my sneakers and trying again.

i'm sure i'll be on this board asking for support kind of a lot.

Hello! I have some of the same issues. I'm turning 35 this year and wanted to actually get healthy (I have said this every year though and not really stuck to it). I started in January and lost weight, gained a lilttle back, lost it again, etc. MFP has really helped me confront what I eat and why I am gaining weight though. I just joined recently but it is great!

Good luck! And good for you for also lacing up the sneakers! I couldn't ever do it by just dieting, I would never stick to it. I want to be healthy and live a long life and that requires lacing up the sneakers!

Congrats on your decision to embark on a new journey! I turned 30 last year and decided it was time to save my life! I had no health issues....yet, but they were in my future if I didn't do something. So with the milestone birthday came a lifestyle change. Not a diet, but a new lifestyle. Best decision EVER. I feel better than I ever have. My daily entries to MFP require no thought or effort...it just happens now. Without even thinking about it. I wish you lots of luck for a successful journey!!
