HI... I have a lot of foot, back problems, and four c-sections have made my abdominal muscles moosh! So I've been thinking about getting a personal trainer to help me exercise correctly to prevent anymore problems. However, i've never done this.... Can anyone give me feed back about what their experineces have been, cost, time commitment..ect....
Thanks a million!

It can only benefit you to have someone with professional knowledge dedicating their time exclusively to your exercise and well being. If you can afford it go for it.0

It depends. They are usually pretty spendy, I don't know exactly how much but I'd say between 40 - 60/hr but if you buy bulk sessions you usually get a discount.
If you need the trainer just to show you technique I'd check at your gym or a local gym to see if they offer initial meetings w/ personal trainers free of charge or at a discount. Just take notes.
If you need a trainer for motivation then I'd say definitely go for it. If cost is an issue see if there is a gym that does group personal training and see if any of your girlfriends want to go in on a session or if there is already a group at the gym that is looking for extra members.
Better yet - do what I did - find a friend who knows what they're talking about but they're not a trainer but they'll go with you to the gym to help you.0 -
if I could afford one, I would have one.0

Hi Fawn,
I got a personal trainer for about 8 sessions when I signed up at the local gym. I have to say, if you can spend the money, do it!! My trainer was awesome. He listened to what I had to say and then worked out exercises that I could do even with some arthritis in my feet. I think my weight loss went faster too the weeks when I worked with him. Good Luck on whatever you decide! Oh...he didn't go easy on me and I was dragging every time I left the gym but somewhere in there I started to feel better and stronger.

YES - I am at work at the moment, will give you more information when I go home :-) , but yes - if you have physical issues the right person can help you make a huge difference over time....0

I did not have a good experience with a personal trainer. However, he was a pig and didn't like how thin I was at the time and tried to give me a diet to bulk up my fat and exercises to work my butt and abs and that was pretty much it. Basically, he tried to make his clients into what he's attracted to.
I have heard very good things about other peoples personal trainers so that's just my experience.
with your issues, I think you would definitely benefit. Usually, you can have at least one session with the trainer before making a decision.0 -
Thanks...this is good info! I will put all this good input into thought!0
