Still confused about calories?? Help please!

So I finally weighed myself and found out my exact weight. I put it in my BMR and recieved a few more calories for the day. Now I need to know this .... If I loose four pounds do I put my new weight into the BMR and take my calorie intake down? I am getting a little confused here. Please help! Thanks

I believe MFP auto adjusts every few lbs or so that you lose. What I do is go to settings when I've lost 5+ lbs and have it do a re-calculate. When I do that, I get less calories to eat - but I just think that there is less of me to feed :flowerforyou: .0

I think MFP automatically does it every 10lbs lost - you can do it yourself though if you want0

You can continue to do it manually if you want, but that might be a little micro-management.

Allow- I think your confused about the BMR. Don't worry about that tool.... the info that you actually put into your settings and the pounds per week to lose you set up in your settings will calculate your calories per day to eat.0

Okay this is where I get confused. People told me I need to up my calories because it helps you loose faster. Do you think I need to only take 1200 a day?
Basic fact is this...
If you're working out, you need more calories.
For example, I've started burning 1000 calories a day at the gym, so I've had to increase my food intake to accommodate for that. If I was still only around 1500-1700 calories and then tried to do 1000+ burned each day, my body would store everything I put into it - b/c it wasn't getting enough.
Everyone is different, so there's going to be different "opinions" - that's all it is, is our opinion. You need to find what works best for you & your body.0 -
1200 is the Minimum you should eat. I never eat back my exercise calories. I've seen a lot of people on here that don't. I think it's mental - people work out X amount to eat X calories. Don't look at it that way. Exercise. Eat 4 small meals a day and plenty of protein. Eat when you're hungry, but don't workout to eat cake!0
