FAO People that have done P90

I'm working up to doing the original P90 and was wondering if peope that had done it here were also followiing the diet side of things, personally I dont buy into the diet thing I'd rather just eat properly etc, at the mo I'm on about 1500 calories a day and have lost 20 or so lb's since the start of this year just by changing what I eat a bit, nothing drastic, just eating a bit less..

Will I get away with just doing another 500 or so calories to compensate part of what I loose doing P90?
