Sooo, if I am doing P90X abs and I use my HRM is it going to be accurate as far as calories burned? I feel like it should be more when I do 30DS, weightlifting, and Abs?

I was gonna say you should be licking toads instead while holding slithering snakes during a ritual belly dance in front of wandering bears...but a HRM would provide a number for you to log.

Since 30 day shred is only 30 minutes and most P90X vids are over 70 with ab riper combined, yes, you should see an increase in cals burned. Especially if you "bring it" lol.

Crunchy Frogs are evil...I am on week 9 and only just realized that no wonder I can't do those damn things, I've been doing them wrong the whole time so I could never get the right rhythm going.

Why not? Try it out. I was doing Ab Ripper X last summer & used it to calculate. You don't burn MUCH but you feeeel the burn! lol And yeah, crunchy frogs SUCK. lol

Agreed! Crunchy frogs are evil & I'm only in the 2nd week of P90X. HRM would be the most accurate way to know how many calories you burn with it. You'll burn some, but nothing like a full on cardio workout.

Wow, not what I was expecting...

I thought crunchy frogs were a generic yet delicious version of Goldfish crackers...sigh, *shrug*

    (yes, they are evil..very evil)
Depends on the P90x video for me personally. The 30D shred is high intensity in a short period of time. I find P90x videos have much more breaks, pauses in between etc so the average heart rate is lower. I would presume, however, the P90x calories burned should def be more than weightlifting.

All that said, how much you burn all depends on what your body is used to and what it finds easy/hard and that varies per person. Check your average heart rate on your HRM and see if it is truly higher when doing the other stuff. If so, then you really are burning more cals.

I burnt more calories doing 30DS than p90x like someone else stated more breaks and not as high intensity in parts. I LOVE crunchy frogs!! :D

Not sure about your question as I don't have an HRM..
