Do you wear socks and tennis shoes/sneakers or go barefoot? Why or why not? I am curious and wondering what is best, I have been doing 30 Day Shred and haven't been wearing shoes, feels weird to inside haha. Any info appreciated!

Well I use to do it with my tennis shoes... But now I just go barefoot =P ... Reason, I don't find it any different wearing shoes or not wearing shoes...
Also, it's easier for me NOT to wear shoes when I'm in the plank/pushup position on my foot. Better grip? Other wise my shoes slide back a little.0 -
I wear socks & tennis shoes. I was doing the 30DS barefoot and realized my posture was horrible. Wearing shoes provided support and helped maintain better position for a lot of the exercises.0

I wear shoes so I have better ankle support...0

Socks. I do find it's easier to do workout with shoes on. I have a shoes only being used indoor, so if I feel like it, I can put those on. But I usually just wear socks.0

I have been doing the 30DS as well but I wear tennis shoes bc I have a bad ankle and I want to give it support. Plus I think I would slide when doing some of the movements without them!0
-
I wearing my running shoes because I have weak ankles and I find there's less chance of injury for me that way. I wish I could wear my exersteps... they are so comfortable... but I don't trust myself with curved bottom shoes on carpet! LOL0

I go barefoot but sometimes wear socks. I try not to wear shoes in the house.0

I do it barefoot. Most exercise shoes make my feet numb and wide shoes are too wide, my feet slide. I use Vibrams for outside exercise but am barefoot inside!0

Depends on what I am doing. If the instructor is barefoot I definately have shoes off with things like yoga but if they have shoes and there is a lot of bouncing I have to have shoes on for arch and ankel support.0
-
I also wear shoes, as I need as much support for my joints as I can get!0
-
I always wear my sneakers, I don't want to twist my ankle and I also have falling arches so I love my Asics gels!0
-
I go barefoot simply because we don't wear shoes indoors, whatever the reason.0
-
Even though we have a rule about wearing shoes on the carpet, I wear shoes to do Shred. I tried it barefoot and had too much discomfort and not enough grip.0
-
I tried with my sneakers on but my feet hurt bad so I now go with socks. I found it a lot easier.0

I do inanity which has a lot of jumping, there were movement benefits to barefoot, but my knees started giving problems , went back to shoes, and my knees are doing better
try both see what works best,0 -
I used to go barefoot, but I learned I am more stable and have less harsh impact (during something intense like Plyometrics) if I'm supported by my shoes.. I've never gone barefoot during a workout since.0

I tend to be barefooted, sometimes i wear socks but not on purpose.0
-
I wear sneakers, if not I dont have enough traction and I slip a lot.0
-
I wear socks and tennies because when I did it barefoot, it hurt.0
-
I tired with shoes and without and ended up finding my five figners are perfect! I also do it on wood floors and move to the carpet when I have to do ab stuff. My feet would hurt so badly with shoes on and I could not do the squats barefoot.0
-
I wear shoes because I don't want my feet to hurt afterwards. I love and cherish my feet....so much so that I wear my shoes when I workout in the living room, even though I can't stand shoes on the carpet!!0

I wear socks & my Asics running shoes. It puts me in an exercising calorie burning frame of mind. (but I do hate doing Zumba on carpet w/shoes)0
-
Barefoot but I have plain wooden floor its even uneven0

I use EA Sports Active and I do wear shoes & socks inside. My only reasoning is I get into the mindset of "Workout time!" when I put on my tennis shoes... because I have a pair of shoes that are strictly for working out. My other tennis shoes are for work. Other than that, I wear flip-flops. So putting on my workout shoes is the same as putting on my workout clothes... it's just getting me into the mindset.0

Whenever I exercise, unless it's yoga, I get in full gear. To me, it's a mind thing, it helps me focus. I feel like I work harder when I'm dressed for it.0

When I lived in my old apartment that had carpeting I use to go barefoot, but then I messed up my ankles so I started wearing sneakers. It helped me do the moves easier, too. Especially like jumping jacks.0

I've been wearing socks the entire time did the 30DS.
The one day i wanted to see how it was with shoes on.. I ended up re-spraining my ankle.
Least to say I've stuck to wearing socks and having my ankle wrapped for the rest of the days..0 -
I go barefoot because I hate shoes and socks, so never wear them indoors.0

I've been wearing no shoes on a wooden floor.2 weeks in and my ankles were killing me. Been almost 3 weeks now. I'd feel weird wearing shoes indoors plus it would be noisy as I get up early. Might get an exercise mat and see how that helps. Be careful cause my ankles hurt even sitting!0

i think it depends on what kind of exercise your doing.
for me i use gym shoes when im going to do something that involves jumping
because if your barefoot you have a higher chance of injury
but when i do yoga or pilates no shoes0
