Thoughts on Caffeine...

Sometimes (like today) I take a caffeine pill to wake me up, because I'm on the verge of falling asleep at work. Along with the caffeine, I get REALLY hungry.
Does the caffeine burn calories? Or the energy it produces? If so, how much?

Here are some articles about caffeine and estrogen that you might want to check out:

The reason that I bring this up is that I used to have problems with endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome. (Endometriosis has been totally and radically cured by my dietary changes, but I'm still working out the kinks in PCOS. It's only been since Oct. '11. I'm trying to be patient.)
My gyno is the one that brought the caffeine-estrogen connection to my attention. Getting rid of the extreme amounts of caffeine that I lived with was the first step to wellness for me.0 -
Anybody else have any thoughts/experience?0

The Caffeine supposedly spikes your metabolism, which will help burn more calories. I'm not sure exactly how much, but I found this google search link interesting. http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/calories/burning_calories/burn_more_calories.htm
This is the interesting part of that article. Whether it is true or not, I have no idea, but I hope so since I love spicy food and caffeine lol
"3) Eat Spicy Food
There is evidence to show that spices, especially chilli, can raise the metabolic rate by up to 50% for up to 3 hours after you’ve eaten a spicy meal.
Drinks containing caffeine also stimulate the metabolism, as does green tea."0 -
I find caffeine suppresses my appetite.0
