My name is Pam and I have been a member of MFP for a while - but never took it seriously. I am always starting a new diet. I think now I am ready to start my last diet. I should change that "I think" to "I am"
But I have no willpower and I live with someone who thinks eating spaghetti at 8:30 at night is ok - along with two huge chunks of iItalian bread. I am a stress eater and work at a law firm. I feel like I get no breaks.
Mini goals.
My goal in the next 24 hours is to eat no carbs after 5PM Thursday.

Uhm, I am not trying to be negative or derail you, but anytime I say I am NOT going to eat this or that, I WANT it ALLL night. Why don't you just plan for a munchy snack late in the evening (leave some extra calories). You can have some popcorn, or a fiber one brownie. I have more success by NOT fighting my nature, and I try to leave extra calories every day for an after dinner snack. Right now it's weight watchers giant fudge bars since it's hot outside. Just my two cents.0

It's going to take time, I've been on here for a couple of months now and go through bad days that last 3-6 days in a row and I know exactly what it's like to be around people, who are not necessarily NOT supporting you, that have a skewed relationship/idea about food. I had a very close friend try to convince me that chicken nuggets are all right to eat, healthy even, because they're cooked in the oven. lol. when your willpower isn't entirely up to scratch...... this is so not helpful, you even get a little bit convinced just because..... you could totally go for a chicken nugget.
Good luck with your goal, I hope it works out for you but if it doesn't it's not the end of the world..... just focus on my fitness pal, the things it could do for you if you take it seriously!!
Good luck again0 -
Can I suggest a book that might help you that has changed my life? It's Made To Crave by Lisa Terkeurst. I have tried every diet under the sun, and this is the first thing that has ever stuck. Because losing weight and being healthy is not about being on a diet, it's about changing your lifestyle. From someone who has finally "got it", please check it out! )0

Hi pam. be careful about those kinds of goals. they can take you down the same old same old paths. try to eat one meal at a time. restricting carbs will not be a long term possible goal....i know...been there done that. if you follow the calories and work out everyday you will see it fall off. i have tried everything including lapband....didnt work........but this site and OA made a huge difference. feel free to friend me. good luck0
