The last push until Thanksgiving. Though if you are under the weather, don't push too hard.:flowerforyou:

CP - I'm traveling by Amtrak. The distinction is important. As much as I love train travel, Amtrak is notoriously late, so it's in a category all to itself. Although, my last trip to Montreal, Amtrak was on time and VIA was late. Go figure. I leave at 9:30am Monday and get to Michigan at midnight on Tuesday - if the stupid train is on time.

It's nice having so many moms worried about me being cold  I will bring something to cover my head and my jacket is rather warm (my husband will bring way too many clothes as well, so I could wear his). I also have a slew of cousins that will loan me clothes if I get a wild hair and decide to spend any time outdoors - to make a snowman maybe? My, it's been so long since we got enough snow for that. I'm 36 years old and the last snow creature I made was in college in Virginia - a sea serpent - half my life ago.

The kitty did well. They found a second tumor and are sending both off to be tested. We find out the results on Tuesday. Nothing was found in the lungs. They want to do an ultrasound because of a mass in front of his heart (could be normal) - so he'll get that done when he gets his stitches out in two weeks.

Oh, was I supposed to talk about exercise? Yesterday was walking. Today is cycling. My husband is all into the push up thing, I've given it up for now. I should do some weight training though...

Happy workouts!

Mary

Well, I'm declaring today DOMS day. My arms are so sore pouring my coffee hurt. Ooof. I'm thinking I might just start doing upper body once a week and lower body once a week, and rely on yoga to do the rest of my toning. I think if I work all the way to fatigue, that's what I get for about a week afterwards. . . fatigue. I'll have to see how I feel on Saturday, which is when I'm next scheduled for upper body.

Today is a GMM (union code for "8 hour long meeting that accomplishes nearly nothing") so I may have to take a day off from exercise, as I have a follow-up with my GP at 1 today. If I get home at a decent hour, I'm doing lower-body strength today.

But, I'll also do my water and vits and try to get in a walk in my waterproof boots, as it snowed a few inches last night, which means slush today.

Great news about kitty, Mary. I hope everything turns out well. My boy cat has a heart murmur, and the docs are suggesting an ultrasound, so I know that's not cheap. I'm hoping to be able to get it done in January. . .

Oh, and take care of yourselves, everybody.:flowerforyou: That goes for you sickies, especially. . .fluids and rest are magic!

And hey, just as a suggestion. . .

What do you guys think of mini-challenges that go for a week or two. . .like a challenge within a challenge. It would be valuable to me to post goals for the week on Sunday or Monday, and then report how I did. Especially with the crazy holidays coming up. . .

Maybe we could go for New Years with some big goals, and then have weekly statements of our intentions?

I just think it would help me, so I'm selfishly suggesting it. :flowerforyou:

This might be a good idea. We might need to shake up the thread a little.
I've been busy today so just getting a minute to post. I got shopping done today, and after lunch started painting again. I had no idea this project was going to take so long! I'm not even half way through! It's getting there and will be so cute but good grief! I am still sick and getting sick of it. I've been putting Vick's on my feet at night to stop the coughing (and yes it does work!) so I am getting a little bit more rest...until it wears off. Tomorrow is another busy day so I don't know what kind of work out I will get in. I did butt yesterday and I am sore today. I will get push ups in tomorrow and lots of cleaning and probably more painting. That's about it for now. Better get to cleaning! Have a good evening!

Hi everyone, glad to hear everyone seems to be doing ok. MM you have more strength than me, painting while you are still feeling under the weather. Here's to the trains running on time Mary, I have never been on one. Have a safe trip. Vivia, small challenges are fine with me.

Whoo Hoo I got my walk in. I had to talk myself into it but I did it. There was a time when I would be grumpy I didn't get one. I'm hoping to get back there. All my waters in for the day and I might even squeak under the calorie count. Who knew it could be so exciting! LOL

Other than that a little house work and my usual bus drive. See you all tomorrow.

I like trains. In college, I took a train (and it was Amtrak) from Rochester to Chicago (got off and visited a friend for a few hours in the station) and then Wisconsin (got off and visited for a few days), and then all the way from Wisconsin to Portland, Oregon. It was a wonderful way to see the country! We caught a ViaRail overnight from Toronto to Montreal once a few years back - in a sleeper car, even! It was fun. If I had time, I would love to travel by train more often.

I'm still feeling uninspired to do anything when I get home - I'm really behind at work and still under the weather. Boo. I never heard of the Vicks on the feet trick, MM! I've been pretty much depending on Nyquil to help me try and get some sleep.

I like the idea of the challenges within a challenge, V. I am worried about losing my focus during the holidays - and the cold just makes me want to hibernate instead of going back out to work on my project. So I am pretty sure my goals are going to need to be related to not letting myself hibernate! Hope you all are well. :flowerforyou:
