Hi Everyone,

My husband and I have very different dinner times. I like to eat no later 6:30. By that time I am starving and getting pretty grumpy. If it was his way we would eat around 8:30-9:0pm. Has anyone had success in finding a compromise in a similar situation? How did it work out?

Thanks!
Theresa

  • during the week my husband and I eat at different times.

he gets home later than i do so by the time he is walking in... i have worked out, cleaned up the house, showered, and starving for dinner.

he will make himself a grilled chicken salad when he is hungry much later in the evening. sometimes i save cals to have a snack while he is eating his dinner so i don't sit there and wish i had a wonderful looking grilled chicken salad.

we make up for not eating dinner together during the week by having breakfast every am together and talking about what are plans for the day are.

on the weekends we have a very similar schedule so we eat together then.

My husband works late and I can't wait for him for dinner. My suggestion is to eat a small snack while he is eating his meal. This way, you won't be tempted to pick his plate. Most importantly though, is just to spend the time and sit with each other when the other is eating.
