What do you do if you ate something has no calories information?

Hello all

This week i spent eating outside for a reason, in some friend's and family houses and so on....

Most food i ate, do not know even their names! They have their traditional recipes, and not found in the internet. Example, they gave me a plate of (mashed bread, yoghurt, and mashed chicken). However, i ate 2 cups only

. So, what can i do for logging its calories?

    bread, yoghurt, chicken

i would then add an extra 100 quick add cals, for any sauce/butter etc.

you're just going to have to search through MFP's food database(there is a TON of stuff on there). most likely you're going to have to guestimate most of it, but just do the best you can.

I can make myself crazy trying to get a really precise calorie measurement. It just doesn't make that much sense to me to get too worried about it. Unless I'm eating packaged food for 100% of the day and/or measure everything on a scale, it's never going to be exact. Even with a HRM, my *exact* calorie burn isn't accurately measured either. I'd need to be hooked up to monitors.

That doesn't mean throw caution to the wind and stop tracking calories of course. It's all a guideline and really should be about a weekly calorie deficit for me (our bodies fluctuate so much daily anyway). I try to get a realistic estimate. I know when I'm trying to "cheat the system." I have to be honest. I also have noticed after tracking calories for awhile what 300 calories feels like. I don't mean that I can accurately gauge 300 calories consumed, but I know that if I'm entering the pizza I just ate and I'm stuffed and the total is 380 calories, then I probably need to up the serving size.

But I'm not a doctor, or a scientist, and I don't even dress very well. So take what I'm saying with a grain of salt (.0016 calories)
