Why I recommend zigzagging calories

So my story started on may the 5th 2011 at just over 149lbs, 5"4 tall. My partner had told me of a party we were going to 5 weeks into the future and it was a black dress occassion. Well that was the kick I needed to loose some weight - there was no way I wearing a fitted black, my confidence was low as I was starting to wear a UK size 14 trouser. So I followed this site, I stuck to 1200 calories and worked out and the weight started to come off, by May 20th I reached 144lb.. and there is stayed. No matter what I did it wouldn't come off anymore. By June 4th (a week before the party) I gave up giving myself a hard time over it and ate what I wanted which in fairness wasnt a great deal, snacking more than meals leaving my body in the good old starvation mode. i went to the party in the black dress but felt quite self consious.
July 14th we set a wedding date - only weeks away on 22nd September so this really was time to get my bum in gear. I did some research and spoke to hubby to be about zigzagging as he does it for body building. Now the way he works is 3-5 days each 4000-5000 calories a day and then two days eating around 2000, the low carb days he calls them. We worked out that I do:
3-5 days at the recommended 1200
1 day at 1400
1 day at 1600
and then start the process again, always changing the 3-5 days at 1200. This is to confuse the body, make the motablism work harder.
My new start weight on 14th July was 145lb - not too bad considering how badly I was treating my body. 21 days later I weigh in at 139/4lbs and feel great. As mentioned I was tiltering on a UK size 14 trousers and now I am wearing a loose UK size 12 - won't be long until I can buy some 10!! My tops were a UK size 10-12 but now an 8-10. But most of all I feel great. 10lb loss may not seem like much to someone who has 60+lb to loose but to me it's the difference between baggy jumpers to cover up and fitted vest tops, between slouching and hiding myself to walking with my head up.
I still have 4lb to loose on this goal (a total of 1 stone will be gone then) which I am confident about doing in the next couple of weeks and in the long term another 7lb after which will take me down to 128lb - no problemo
(I must add I am not amazingly strict on what I eat, I go with the 80% good 20% enjoy theory. Afterall, I want to eat to live, not live to eat and sometimes, being so strict and aware of whats good and whats not can seem that way!!)

I do this as well and find that it works great for me too. I go 5 days eating at my calorie goal of 1340 and then I have 2 days of eating between 1400 and 1600 calories. I still exercise everyday, but I do find that the weight is coming off faster than when I used to eat stritctly 1200 calories per day.0
