Hey everybody!

I am currently at the end of week 3 of c25k, and want to start tracking my speed and distance of each run, so I can see how I am progressing.

How do you guys do it? Have you bought a special gadget, or is there an good app for my phone?

I have a blackberry curve 8520.

Thanks :)

  • I use RunKeeper on my Android phone, it tracks pace/distance/speed/etc. Not sure if it's available for a blackberry, but it works great so it's worth looking into.

I use the jogtracker app. It's free, uses GPS, keeps miles, time, speed, and MPH/MPM. Plus it keeps a record online for you as well, and logs all your runs.

You can use gmaps pedometer if you want to know exactly how far you've run, because it means you can draw where you've been, you don't need to stick to roads. I just use that and wear a watch and that's let me track it just fine. x

The Garmin ForeRunner watches are AWESOME! They have GPS, heart rate monitor, time, avg pace per mile, distance EVERYTHING! There are apps for your phone as well I forget the name of the one I used to use but I dont like carrying my phone on my runs

I've tried MyTracks and Runkeeper, neither worked properly on my phone. Thankfully I found Endomondo, works great!!!
  • Don't use the app in the iPod Nano. It's wrong. I cover the same distance everyday. My husband has a Garmin GPS (Forerunner 610) watch so we know it's just shy of 3 miles. The Nike+Active that is in the nano had my distance as 1.4 miles one day and .5 miles the other. Completely wrong.

My husband really likes his GPS watch. He can download to his laptop and track his distance. I think those are more accurate than ones that are measuring your footfalls.

The one in the Nano is on your wrist, so if you are like me where I don't swing my arms a lot, then it's not measuring accurately. Annoying.
