When pain is spreading that much I personally think you are beyond home remedies. You really should get something that serious checked out by a doctor or there is a possibility of nerve damage.

Have you ever had this condition evaluated by a medical professional?

It's not a "condition" it's a muscle strain from the yoga class I did last night. If I had time id go see my massuse, but I'm at work.
  • If I recall correctly, ice for first 48 hours and then heat.

I was always told to ice it for 15min then heat for 15min, just alternate for a couple of hours.

Ahh, okay, if you know what it is, that's great. The usual rule that I have been told by chiropractors and physical therapists is ice for the first 24 hours, no more than 20 minutes at a time. then heat after that 24 hour time period.
