Fighting the tummy fat

With my recent weight loss, I notice it mainly around my face, upper body, and legs, but I have SUCH a hard time losing it around my mid section. I try to do ab exercises, but I'm not noticing a big difference. I enjoy running a lot, but the mid section is so hard for me to lose. Any suggestions/tips?

Zumba has given me the most waist weight loss of anything I've tried.

The belly sucks. For me it's the last to go, but it's definitely shrunk (just still round). I'd hazard a bet that it'll be your last loss too.
Just keep on keeping on with your cardio and your proper food intake and eventuall it'll get there - also, if you're looking to gain muscle in that area, try core strengthening exercises like planks rather than "ab" exercises like crunches.

I'm trying that class next week! Hope I have the same success!

it's part of being a woman. we're built to be baby-making machines, so we have a layer of fat that men don't have. we also lose weight from the top down. you'll see it in your face, arms, boobs first, and your legs get toned quicker than the rest because most cardio workouts are done walking, stepping, dancing, etc. as you get closer to your goal, and your weight loss slows down, your body will redistribute the weight, and even it out. it sucks in the interim, but it will work out. in the meantime, you keep working out, especially on that belly, and it'll be toned and gorgeous once the extra fat is gone. you're doing awesome, keep it up!!

Fighting the tummy fat really has mostly everything to do with what you're eating.

Belly area has more to do with nutrition than it does exercise. Send me a message with your email and I'll forward you a really interesting article about it that someone shared with me a while back.

Along with what the others said (Zumba, nutrition, etc.), I have also heard that the tummy area & triceps area is the LAST place us, as woman, lose the excess weight.

Good luck on your continued journey!

I've been doing Jillian Michaels' "6-Week Six-Pack" workout, and have really noticed a difference. I still have a little fat to lose, but I can totally feel the muscles under there!

This is my theory ... well, it works this way for me (worked ... before my body seems to refuse to co-operate at all any more)

I loose weight from the top and bottom and then the middle last

In other words, the first places to loose weight are my cheeks and ankles, then it moves to my thighs and boobs .... :(

Tummy last ... but by then I have usually given up.
