Hi,

I'm new to this site but so far think it's absolutely fantastic!! I purchased the Wii Fit this past Sunday. I was actually happy where it put my first weight, it said 147lbs which is lower than my scale. My kids got on the Wii Fit and their weight seemed in track with their recent weigh ins at the doctors office so I'm thinking it is some what accurate. Then..I got on it last night and did an update, it said I lost 3.5 pounds which I loved seeing but don't think it's true since my other scale shows that I haven't really moved a bit. Not sure what to think. Does anyone out there find the Wii Fit scale to be inaccurate?

  • I am not really sure about it either. my wii fit is saying a couple pounds lighter as well. i take it with a grain of salt though because all scales are different. i would use one scale or the other not both and another thing could be the wii usually sits on carpet,,, well in my house anyways..and that always messes with a scale.

My Wii fit seems to be pretty accurate. It always makes me the same weight as my body fat monitor so great job on your weight loss

I may not rely on the Wii for judging weight, but it's great exercise with the kids!! My son isn't quite old enough to play on ours but it won't be long and he'll be wearing my butt out!! hahaha

Just bought the Zumba game for the Wii... It's the best!!
  • Mine is off. I think like anything even a scale can get off calibrated. I found that my heart rate monitor even said I burned 100 more calories during free run than the wii fit plus said. So I don't go by the wii.

I only use the Wii Fit to measure my weight but it's normally pretty accurate. Only use one as a scale or you'll drive yourself crazy trying to figure out which one has the correct weight. The 3lb drop was probably water weight but regardless Good job on the weight loss.
  • I had that problem before, where my weight wouldn't be the same as my scale weight. I then realized that when the wii asked me how heavy my clothes were, I would just click "light" and that would automatically deduct 2 pounds. My shorts and tanktop are definitely not 2 pounds, so I decided to put my clothes in as 0 pounds, and my Wii weight is pretty much what my scale says.

My scale is a little off but I think that's because I have it on really thick carpet. It's great for measuring loss though, it gives you a neat little chart and everything :) I just pay attention to the "difference" in weight rather than my actual weight (which I like to measure in a gym or on a more reliable scale).

PS: I can't wait for that little voice to stop saying "That's overweight!" every time I step on the darn thing. Ahhh.

I do my body test every morning at the same time and it does seem to reflect what my digital scales say - it's very sensitive to clothing, different time of the day etc., and will tell you if you have changed the time you do your body test.

I do my weekly weigh-in using the digital bathroom scales, but monitor my BMI on the Wii (yup, still obese!) - but it's the best thing I've ever bought, keeps the fun and challenge in my morning workouts, and I have quite a competitive streak so it works for me! I am The Super Hula Queen, lol!!
  • I don't trust my Wii fit either. Every time I get on it , it says I have lost like two or three pounds and my scale says I have either gained or stayed the same.
