Ok so this is random, but, I spent a half-hour this morning slicing and pitting sweet red cherries, and now my cuticles are stained.

I have a wedding to attend tomorrow and would really like to clean up my hands... It's just not romantic to be eating dinner looking like you single-handedly massacred a tribe of animals.

Any ideas to remove the stains?

Please don't suggest bleach..... it stinks soooo bad.... then I would be posting a topic asking for how to get the bleach smell off my hands.....

I saw something on tv the other day that soaking your hands or feet in denture cleanser lifts stains.

Use whitening toothpaste on them. It will have a similar effect on your fingernails as it does on your chompers.

I would try nail polish remover maybe? If that doesnt work try scrubbing your nails with baking soda and water. Hope you get them clean!

oil should remove the worst of the dye - then lemon juice for the stains - you might have to soak in it (like at the manicurist)

Use cuticle remover. You can find it
at any beauty supply store, most
    pharmacy stores, and many
    superstores like Wal-Mart, Target,
    Meijer, Jewel Osco, etc.

    or try try lemon juice

sorry dude, I would be too busy vomiting to scrub effectively.

Thanks all, I'm going to try the baking soda / lemon juice / oil and mayyyybe vinegar but that stinks so that'll be a last resort.

Appreciated! I'm off to the bathroom LOL!

Weird. Usually everything you read on the internet is true. But I know for a fact that the vinegar is completely unnecessary.

Just a suggestion for the future.. instead of popping cherries with your bare hands, you could wear some kind of latex protection. Prevents mess and accidents, plus any kind of excess residue everywhere.

next time get a pre popped cherry

Then no more stains from what looks like a gazelle getting torn asunder by a mandingo lion.

btw the baking soda and lemon juice worked pretty well ---- not perfect, but it did lighten the staining a bit. Now for a pretty nail polish

Peaches are sexy. Bananas are suggestive. Pineapples are flavoring.

It's your call to leave it wide open.

very messy, not to mention it destroys your towels during clean up

I don't know how I forgot Lava Soap!

I had all kinds of food coloring stains - including black food coloring, which leaves a lovely vivid green smear behind - on my hands after making my piggie cake - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/279636--vegetarian-pig-roast-a-sculpted-cake-tutorial - and Lava took it all off. Granted, it also took off a layer of skin, but my hands were flesh-tone once again.
