Prone leg curl

I want to work on my hamstrings, but I think I'm doing something wrong on the prone leg curl machine. I don't feel any burn on my hamstrings. I do get to the point where it's physically impossible to continue, but it's because of this strange, numbing sensation that radiates from my toes. It's "cold" and definitely not the muscle "burn" I feel on all the other lifting exercises.
I do want to see a personal trainer eventually and have my form corrected. But how does one go wrong on the prone leg curl machine? There doesn't seem to be much room for error.
Anyone had any similar experience?

Never had that happen. What happens if you drop the weight to about 50-60% your max and go to failure? Any burn there? Do 25-30 reps..0

I'll give that a try. I'm hoping it's not anything like nerves getting pinched in my ankles.0

Also make sure your knee is in line with the pivot point of the machine - hope that makes sense!0

Thanks, I'll double check that too.0
