I have been trying to lose about ten pounds and get into shape for the past few months. I began doing Tony Horton's Ten Minute Trainer to get into the exercise routine and start developing some stamina(I did love these DVDs and would recommend them to anyone just beginning to workout) . I then did Jillian Micheal's Ripped in 30...and then went onto p90 but found that routine too boring and not at all challenging... so I have been doing P90X and again, I find P90X boring..the cardio and even the Plyo doesn't get my heart rate up. I know on a past stress test at the cardiologist the cardiologist mentioned that my heart compensates for exercise very efficiently thus it takes more to get my pump stressed, this is why I am not feeling any real burn power in my P90X workouts....so my question would be (in my long winded way)- Should I try to do Turbo Fire instead to get the heart pumping or stick with my routine...Which consists of....

7 days- P90X- along with a hip hop cardio dance thing that I made up to my Kid Rock songs- this does get my heart pumping every time (about 15 minutes)

aside from my 7 day routine I also add-
Cardio HIIT 3 days on treadmill 20 minutes- and cardio HIIT on bike 2 days a week 20 minutes
This works out to be about 1 1/2 hours a day of workout with a partial rest day on Fridays of just P90X stretch and abs....

I love the muscle that I am developing with the P90X but do not feel cardio results from it. If I did Turbo Fire I could do it most evenings and then do strength training every other day as well as abs..??? any one have any opinions???

There is a worksheet for a Turbo Fire/P90X hybrid routine on the Beachbody website. You could combine the two and do both. I haven't done TurboFire yet but I just bought it and will be starting it after I finish this round of P90X. From what I can see P90X has a lot more strength training and TurboFire has a lot more cardio. You could just sub the cardio that gets you going for the cardio in P90X if you don't want to think that hard. ;) I switch stuff around all the time depending on my schedule and how I'm feeling.

Have you thought of running..., major carido there. I love to lose myself in my run; I'm drenched when I'm done.
