Does anyone have the same problem I do?... I try the Extra gum as a snack but I end up chewing one piece after another until the pack is gone... you add up those calories every day and you can see why I had problems losing weight before I stopped buying it.

  • i'm not totally sure that even eating a whole pack of sugar-free gum is going to really throw off your weight loss - but hey, maybe it was! personally, I chew gum when i'm staving off hunger too, but i supplement it by drinking lots of water - that helps me feel fuller, and i don't eat a whole pack. good luck!
  • I have a pack a day gum habit....once it loses it's flavour, I tend to pop another one

OMG I thought I was the only one. I started it when I quit smoking. I love the taste in the first few minutes. It is fine, no significant calories, fat, or carbs. Can give you headaches from chewing though :)

I chew a lot of gum, too. It's basically my traveling toothbrush. I always pop a half piece of Extra in after I eat. I think helps keep me from getting cavities (never had one). But I also chew it when there are temptations around to keep my mouth busy. I never count the calories.

Because I chew so much gum I actually count the calories. At 5 calories a piece it adds up fast if you're chewing a whole pack a day!

I love gum...I chew either Doublemint (they reformulated it and the flavor lasts SO much longer) or Trident...I find that both last longer than other gums...and also, if gum is starting to lose its flavor, I usually take a sip of ice cold water...it seems to "refresh" the gum and give it another burst of flavor...

I do chew gum, esp to stop me from mindlessly munching when I am making dinner, packing lunches etc. But, I keep it to a piece or two. Too much gum makes me farty. LOL!
Funny post though, bc this lady at my work told me that she can't buy gum bc she will eat it up one piece after another real fast.
