Is anyone taking any diet pills?

so im trying to lose 30 lbs and ive tried taking a couple different kinds of diet pills
havent really found anything to work
i workout 3-5 times a week for about an hour
ive been trying to lose weight for awhile now
im 63 inches and 161 lbs
apparently for my body type im supposed to be anywhere between 101-136 pounds
Its really discouraging to think i could lose 60lbs and be considered healthy
i never thought i was that overweight
havent really found anything to work

The thing that I've found with diet pills (Hydroxycut, Xenadrine, etc.) is that they're basically just a diuretic & full of caffine. That's why it says to drink 100 oz of water every day that you're on them. Thing that has worked for me is watch you're calorie intake and exercise. I know you've heard it all the time but that's the only thing that works. Spend your money on better stuff like protein & creatine and good food. Muscle burns fat. Every pound of muscle you put on increases your RMR by 50 calories.0

I did take Oxy Elite Pro from GNC. They worked very well. I lost about 15 pounds on them.0

Oprah said something to the effect of----"if there was something I could buy to get and stay thin, I would have." Point is, there isn't anything that is good for your health out there. Please don't go that route.0

I don't believe in diet pills !!! once your done taking them if you have not changed your eating and exercise habits you will gain the weight back. So eat right get your exercise and it will come off. also screw the BMI, in other words if you feel good etc then don't sweat it. I am 5'10" and currently weigh about 197, according to the BMI i should no more than 173 i think, well that's probably not going to happen.... good luck0

I started with alli as a few of my friends have had great success, however you have to minimise fat intake else u get really unpleasant side effects. I watch calories, i dont tend to watch fat intake too closeley.
So now I am trying Capsiplex. Some people say im silly for buying things like this but i figure if it works, why not? and if it doesn't, il not buy it again!!
Started Capsiplex yesterday, going to give it a full 30 days and see what happens. Add me if u like, I'll be updating my status and weight each week about it and i'l be able to give it a personal review.0 -
I have taken diet pills over the years, but I don't anymore, because nothing has worked for me since ephedrine. Even though that worked years back for me I got mood wings. Now I make sure to take vitamins and minerals that nourish my body, so I don't have imbalances that give me cravings. I sometimes take ginseng for extra energy, because I tend to eat more and not workout when I am tired. Most diet pills are filled with caffeine and who knows what else.0

@Hcrifasi23- I did take Oxy Elite Pro from GNC. They worked very well. I lost about 15 pounds on them.
I'm experiencing positive results by using OxyElite Pro as well, I recommend it. Buy it off of Ebay to get a better deal, good luck0 -
I have had much success with Hydroxycut. I lost over 50 lbs. last year. I find it helps to control my stress eating and gives me energy. I do not take the recommended dosage. I take one per day. It also helps speed up metabolism and has a mood booster in it.
I am not a fan of weight loss pills... and believe all people react to them differently so it is up to your own discretion.

Been there, done that. Tried several different ones and none of them work! Maybe a couple pounds but you can't do those long term plus it can't be good for your health. Eating healthy and tracking calories and exercising has helped me lose 25 pounds so far.0

Um, LOL, no that's not a good idea, it sends you to the bad parts of town... ya get a bad reputation....then there's the whole being awake for FIVE DAYS, start losing your teeth, and then you start to really look bad, you're skinny tho. No I get where you're going with this and you're right there's really no "magic" pill out there. Wish there was though cuz I'd buy it in a heart beat.
I've done Meridia when it first came out, and it did work marginally for me along with WW and exercise but then it stopped working. I more than likely grew a tolerence to it. And I've had success with just doing WW alone also. But I think (and this is me trying to be scientific and all) I may have a blood sugar/insulin issue. So right now I'm trying to cut my carb intake down and eat within a sensible calorie goal, and to exercise. I have put so much CRAP in my body that who knows what the future holds. I am trying to eat "cleaner" though. But I do love my junk! So it's a daily journey for me right now.
Good luck with whatever you try and remember what has worked for one may not necessarily work for you. I guess that's what I'm liking about MFP that you're given the guidelines (and we all know what's good for our bodies and what's not, let's be serious now) and you take it and make it yours. Just be as healthy as you can.0 -
I admit I've tried a few - and most of them make me sick to my stomach. And I never know if they're actually working, so they seem like a waste of money. I'd say just stick to healthier lifestyles and realize there are no magic answers. I've always believed that if its challenging ten results are worth it. If it's easy to get what we wanted, we'd be bored. Dare to fail gloriously, but aim to achieve.0

Diet pills work great, to make your WALLET thin!!! But seriously though, if you're having trouble losing the weight, change up what exercises you're doing. Not every exercise works for everyone. I've walked, jogged, ran, I was on the swim team in highschool and got a varsity letter, and none of that made me lose any weight. However, when I rode my bike a few extra miles I started losing weight too fast, according to my doctor... from -just- riding the bike a few more miles. I gained it all back and then some when I stopped those few extra miles though, and all the walking, running, etc. didn't help keep it off, obviously.
If it's not working, change it up until it does!0 -

i take vitamins that boost my metabolism but
i used to take ephedrine with caffeine so it could suppress my appetite and let me work out full-force for a long time
but i grew a tolerance very quickly and my appetite came back...oh and i was a little more irritable than usual on them...and a little nausea when paired with too many cigarettes lol...so i quit them0 -

There aint a pill, shot, or shake in the world for that. Tracking your calories (with MFP) over a long period of time is a great way to relearn eating habits so you can KEEP the weight off once you get there.0

Tracking your calories (with MFP) over a long period of time is a great way to relearn eating habits so you can KEEP the weight off once you get there.
I love this. A lot. That is really great advice. But you are correct - eating right is the easy part. It's the consistence that is tricky. But the best thing you can do is work for it. Taking pills is great, but is too easy for weight loss. When you work for it though, it will mean a lot more to you, and therefore be something you wish to keep.0
