Does anyone have a funny gym moment? If so post it here.

I was at the gym last night watching a group of teenagers who obviously thought they were hardcore. One bragged to his friends that he could do 10 chinups. However, he couldn't even do one proper one... what he ended up doing was pulling himself up part way but couldn't get his head to clear the bar so he looked up at the ceiling so his chin 'cleared' the bar. Was pretty amusing

I wAs on the treadmill when a lady got on the one next to me, she was doing great while walking until she got ballsy and decided to run it wasn't even 2 minutes later she tripped over herself and face planted it! I knew she was embarrassed because she hurried up and got up and looked around but I looked away and pretended I hadn't seem her lol

I wouldn't say this was embarrassing for the guy, because I was totally proud of him rocking out and doing his work out, but I walked into the gym about a year ago and this really well built guy was lifting weights in the back corner. The amusing part about it was his back was turned, so he didn't see me (it was about 3am), he had his mp3 headphone on, and was NOT KIDDING, singing pop songs out loud. It was the BEST.
  • Not really a gym one, but it is heard there.....basically anytime anyone tells someone that "muscle weighs more than fat" I just chuckle. A pound of fat and a pound of muscle weigh the same...A POUND! haha.
  • Many years ago, I was at a gym for the first time and I had NEVER used a treadmill, well I got on it, started it, then flew into the wall behind me! No one looked, laughed or helped me, I almost knocked myself out........it is funny NOW

This is what happened to me today....
So embarrassing! This mornings Zumba class was packed and I stood in my usual spot right beside the big doorway (that's the only spot that seems to get air). It's private, so I don't care and I get my groove on. An older woman shows up late and brought a young man in a wheel chair to WATCH us. (WTHeck?) She weaseled her way to a spot in the back corner.... So, as embarrassed as I was, I obviously was not giving it my all like I usually do, then I thought... I paid for this class and I'm sure he'll roll away if I just do my usual thing. So I did my thing but he didn't budge. At that point I was practically running this poor guy over. Oh, lets make things worse.... my stinkin' rubber band broke! (that happens a lot to me) So now my hair is flying all over the place, I'm a sweaty pig, and I'm shaking stuff with no way to avoid being right in his face. He didn't make it easier on me... he just stared and smiled. I'm so humiliated. Next time, I'm showing up early to get a spot in the back and I'm wearing a helmet and a mask and a turtleneck! : /

Mine wasn't at the gym but I was power walking on my treadmill and decided that it would be a good idea to reply to a text message. In the middle of the text my right foot landed on the plastic part beside the belt. Since my left foot was still on the belt I did this crazy spin move and almost fell on my face. That was the end of my texting on the treadmill days haha.

My dog also thinks it's fun to drop her toys on the front of the belt and get them when they fly off the back while I'm frantically trying not to sprain an ankle or do a faceplant whil avoiding them...I'm starting to remember why I quit using my treadmill and started using my bike hahaha.

    :embarassed:

LOL!!! Our dogs get super excited whenever I put an exercise dvd in. They think it's play time and that I'm excited about something because I'm jumping all over the place. They bark and howl! I end up having to put them in the bedroom with a baby gate up so they can still see out. Otherwise, more howling.... They're crazy girls!

Not at the gym but when I do my 30DS at home my cat thinks this is a good time to try to rub all over me and play. I'll be doing sit ups and whacking her with my back or traveling push ups with her underneath me! I have to shoo her away at least 3 times before she gets the hint!
