what is this HRM i keep reading about and what does it do?

HRM= heart rate monitor......in a nut shell it is supposed to monitor your heart rate and based on the data you input, ie age weight, resting heart rate, gender...it will monitor you while you work out and give you an approximation of the amount of cals burned...that said, there a lot of them out there from really to cheap to really expensive...some do more than others....you will need to research what will work best for you.....I am guessing, but from what I have seen, most people seem to prefer the polar brand ( I have a polar ft4 that I love)...hope this helps0
