Hello,

I have recently started trying to eat more heatlhier options, but am finding it really hard to have variety in my food! I am so sick of chicken and turkey, and am getting very bored with the food!

I am very wary of keeping my sugar intake down, but always seem to go over. I am trying to eat mostly fresh and healthy foods, foods that are high in vitamins! I will let you know the foods I mostly eat and if anyone has some other great options that they enjoy please let me know =)

breakfast::

low fat vanilla yoghurt (dont like natural yoghurt) with all bran
vegemite toast

lunch
chicken and vegies
turkey wrap
vegie soup.. basically any sort of combination with salad, chicken, turkey or veggies

dinner
I am mostly fine for dinner, I usually have meat (steak, chicken, beef) in different forms, skewers etc.
or spaghetti bolognese.

snacks
I try not to have more then 2 pieces of fruit because of sugar.
I will have turkey on vitaweats (this is just a multigrain biscuit)
raw carrot
cherry tomatoes'
low fat muffin

Its getting very repetitive! HELP?

Im a big fan of salads for lunch, you can get alot of variety with the veg, protein, and dressings. I also have recently found these small (85g) of flavoured tuna...mmmmm

The key is to eat what you enjoy, if you are sick of the food you are more likely to end up pver eating something else. Feel free to add me so you can see my diary, most people think i eat a lot of food for the calories, and im always happy to share ideas. :)

    Good Luck

I LOOOOOOVE those flavoured tuna cans! I keep them in my desk drawer with some rice crackers. They are a great lunch if I forget to pack one. I love putting slices of cucumber on top of the rice cracker before I put on the tuna too! MMMM

Eating less fruit because of trying to keep your sugar intake low, is not the greatest to do...It's a NATURAL sugar, therefore different than processed sugar for your body...

Try some Boca burgers...I eat whatever yogurt I want to, even with the sugar in it as long as it's fat free/light (yoplait light fat free) at least once a day.
I snack on Tuna or have it in a salad...
Cottage cheese- 1/2 cup - good for the protein
Apple slices with peanut butter - great for the carb and protein and the PB helps curb your appetite (great snack for you!)
I also will snack on Atkins high protein bars/low sugar/low carb or Atkins high protein/low sugar/low carb "shakes"...I don't miss my chocolate with these things!
Try some Ezekial Bread..the stuff is awesome!!

Have some Newman's Pizza...Or Kashi Pizza...both are very good and good for you...

These are just a few things to break it up...Hope it helps!
  • Go to Walmart...get yourself a bag of talapia fillets. There are usually around 10-15 individually wrapped filets per bag. In a pan drizzle 2 tablespoons of evoo ( or butter if u like )......thaw and rinse fillets..put them in skillet..season them..kick it up..add cayenne pepper..mrs dash...whatever u have..cook it for 5 minutes on each side..med heat. Serve with veggies..mashed potatoes..or grill some mushrooms with it....or grill a flour tortilla and make yourself a yummy soft taco....It is YUMMY!!!
