Hi everyone,
I just got Turbo fire, and i am getting devastated. ITs 3:30 am here, still struggling with doing the 30 minute workout, i just get tired by the 5th minute. I feel i cant do it. How do you guys get the strength to do such workouts? I have only done zumba, hip hop abs and turbo jam a few times, but this workout is killing. I hear it brings great results so i really want to do it, but no strength, i guess i am very out of shape.
Any advice is appreciated.

Just take it slow. If 5 minutes is all you can do at a time, do that. Some exercise is better than no exercise. Keep at it and eventually you'll be able to do the whole thing, just takes time! Don't get discouraged!0

3:30am? you think maybe that's part of the problem???
why don't you try doing it after a good night's rest and see how that goes?!0 -
When I struggle with keeping up with a video, I just slow down while continuing to do whatever they are doing in the video. You will find you catch up. If you get too tired take a minute of active rest walking on the spot and take a drink of water, then pick up wherever the video is. Eventually you will be able to do the whole thing at a slower pace, and eventually at the full pace.0

I do two crazy ones: The four minute workout and the 100 workout. I only do 2 minutes of the 4 minute one and I started with 25% of the 100 workout. You just have to build up the strength. Each time I feel like I'm going to die, but each time I can do a little more.0

I think there's a "prep" Turbo Fire schedule out there for people who are knew to working out. Start with 45 EZ for sure, not the 30. In addition to being hard, the moves are tricking and take some time to figure out. Modify them if you need to. Like if she does a kick, some punches, and some more kicks, then repeat, only do the first set of kicks then rest through the other ways.0

Given your current weight and the fact you are doing high intensity exercise I had a quick look over your food diary. One helpful tip would be that you need to eat to have energy to do high intensity workouts.
some days you barely manage 1200 calories and on other days only reported eating lunch. All pretty good ways to burn yourself out and not make weight loss progress when training intensely.
The harder you work the more food you need0 -
I just started Turbo Fire this week. It is tough.
Either take it slow and do what you can (don't push it)
OR
go back to Turbo Jam for a month.
According to the Turbo Fire book, you should be able to do 30 minutes of intense cardio, 3+ times per week before starting. It appears to me that this workout is designed for those already used to regular exercise. That doesn't mean you can't do it --- just be careful and don't push too hard.0 -
Just go however long you can at the highest intensity that you can and build up to doing the full video. Also take advantage of the new to class videos and rest up while learning the moves. I also agree that 3:30 in the morning is way to early try for later in the morning if you can or do it at night right before bed. Just don't give up because it will get you into awesome shape cardio wise and physically too!!!0

Don't try to do too much too soon! Work your aerobical fitness first and do what you can, try to increase what you doo weekly but not by too much.0

I agree, keep trying. Sometimes I have found for me that if I tell myself I can't, then I believe it and as a result... I can't. Know what I mean? But if you try starting your workouts with positive mental statements, it's a whole different ball game. I remember years back I started doing the whole Tae Bo thing and I bought a couple dvds. I was so frustrated because I couldn't get the moves down. Now I feel like I got it down and I love it. Sometimes it takes time. Don't give up! Try setting a new goal each time you do the workout. Shoot for 5 minutes, then 10 and so on. Also, working out at 3am, I don't know about that, depends on your schedule I suppose. Lol... Hang in there babe, you can do it!0 -
It took me a month before I could even get all the way through the Fire 30 video. I agree with everyone else here-- make sure you're eating enough, maybe try to work out a little later in the morning or in the evening when you have more energy, and just push yourself to do a little extra each time. And make sure to incorporate the strength and core videos in the program, building muscle/strength will really help you get through those cardio classes.0

I 'm in the middle of week 9 of Turbo FIre. I did the Prep Schedule and I think it really helped. Be sure to use the nutrition guide so that you're getting the proper fuel or when all else fails defer to Micha's Ladder.
Before my workouts I have a small snack and afterwards a protein shake. I've recently been using Shakeology, when I can get my hands on it, and that helps a ton. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after.
Honestly there are some days that are really tough. On those days I'll cover up the timer so I'm not constantly looking at it! After watching shows like "Biggest Looser" and "Heavy" I tell myself if people that are two or three times my size can push hard during their workouts...then I can too. Every now and again I have to make myself workout but I am always glad when I'm done and feel like a million bucks!0 -
just keep doing a few mins of the workout and build it up adding in a few more untill you have the whole workout done ! it may take you a few weeks but hey you will get there!0

I am on week 3 of Insanity. I've been doing the whole thing since day one. I go at my own pace and just make sure i'm doing the exercises properly. When I want to give up I tell myself it's only 30-40 minutes of my life and i can push though it.0
